Health Benefits of a Positive Outlook
Positive thinking, Covid-19, Chiropractic Care and the "Waking Up" App
Having lived through several big events here in Christchurch there is a case for feeling that we can survive anything, are numb to it all, or are doomed to suffer future calamities -all depending on your personal outlook.
Lately in clinic I've noticed a polarizing of attitudes due to Covid-19; some are very grateful to live here in NZ free from restrictions experienced overseas, some have strong thoughts about pending vaccination, and of course some of us are worried about future outbreaks or even lack of future travel.
But we clearly have a lot to be grateful of and I'm personally optimistic about the world's ability to achieve immunity and move on, having learnt an awful lot about the need to act decisively in the face of a potential pandemic. And although my optimism may be misplaced there are actually good reasons to hold this view even when the future is uncertain.

My personal aid for mental well-being is the use of an app "Waking Up". It is a fantastic introduction to meditation and training awareness of your own consciousness that if nothing else will help calm your mind before sleep, but encourages you to use in moments throughout your day.
